For information about the inaugural year of the Lux Children and Youth choirs, check back here on Aug 1st!
Lux — light. It is the word at the heart of everything we do.
At the Lux Choral Society, we believe that sacred music has a unique power to illuminate the human spirit — to draw us into those rare “thin spaces” where the human and the divine feel beautifully, unmistakably close. That mission begins with the voices we welcome into our ensembles. Whether singing in the Lux Singers, the Lux Men’s Chorus, or the Lux Women’s Chorus, know this: you are not simply singing in a choir. You are joining something larger — a community of artists committed to sharing the light of the world’s sacred-music traditions with anyone who needs it.
As we enter our 13th season, we do so with a sense of historic excitement. This year, for the first time, we will welcome singers into our brand-new Children’s and Youth Choirs — expanding our mission to the next generation of choral artists. As a society, we will perform the full concert version of The Prince of Egypt musical, bringing one of the most spiritually powerful stories ever told to life through choral music. We will continue to extend our reach beyond the Wasatch, sharing our light with new communities and new audiences. We will continue to do collaborations and joint concerts, this year welcoming the Carolyn Einon Choir from Arizona during their tour. And we are thrilled to introduce our inaugural A Lux Christmas Matinee.
This is a season unlike any before it — and it starts with you.
We welcome singers of all backgrounds who share our commitment to excellence and music that matters. Wherever you come from, whatever your faith tradition, if music stirs something deep within you and you long to be part of something meaningful, we want to hear your voice.
We look forward to meeting you.
